A Journey Through Time
The Beginning
Started as a simple mountain lodge by the Thornhill family. Back then it was just twelve rooms and a lot of heart. Hikers and ski bums would crash here after long days on the slopes, swapping stories by a wood-burning stove. Nothing fancy, but man, it had soul.
Growth & Vision
We expanded to 35 suites and honestly, people thought we were nuts. But Whistler was changing, and we wanted to grow with it while keeping that authentic mountain vibe. Added the first iteration of what'd eventually become our spa - basically a hot tub and massage room, but guests loved it.
The Renovation
Complete transformation time. Brought in local architects who got what we were going for - luxury that doesn't scream at you. Exposed timber, stone from nearby quarries, floor-to-ceiling windows that make you feel like you're sleeping under the stars. This's when Blazethorn Crown really found its identity.
Alpine Spa Launch
The Alpine Spa & Wellness Center opened and changed everything. We partnered with local therapists who use ingredients you can actually find on these mountains - pine, wildflower, mineral-rich waters. It's not just pampering, it's connecting with the landscape around you.
Culinary Excellence
Our Fine Dining & Craft Cocktail Lounge became a destination in itself. Chef Marie brought her farm-to-table philosophy straight from the Fraser Valley, and our bar manager... well, let's just say he can do things with BC spirits that'll make you rethink everything you thought you knew about cocktails.
Today & Tomorrow
We're still that same lodge at heart, just dressed up a bit. Yeah, we've got conference facilities now and seasonal packages that'd make any ski enthusiast weep with joy, but walk through our doors and you'll feel what Marcus felt back in '87. This place is about the mountains, the people, and that indescribable feeling when you're exactly where you're supposed to be.

Look, we're not gonna fill your head with corporate mission statements. Here's the truth - we love these mountains, we love hosting people, and we're obsessed with the details.
